These quick and easy delicious little morsels only require 5 ingredients, and they are all the yum’s!
I’m not taking credit for the yoghurt dough as I have no idea where it originated, but this is how I make mine.
Ingredients –
2 cups of self-raising flour
1 cup of Greek style yoghurt
Butter
Vegemite
1 cup of grated Tasty cheese
Method –
Pre-heat oven to 180c fan forced.
In a large bowl mix your flour and yoghurt until well combined. I knead it for a minute or two, but to take away the elbow grease you can use a mixer with dough hooks.
Lightly flour the bench and using a rolling pin, roll your dough into a rectangle shape until it’s around 1-2cm thick.
Smear with butter and Vegemite just as as you would when making a sandwich and sprinkle with grated Cheese.
Roll the dough up to resemble a log, cut 3cm rounds, place flat on a lined baking tray and bake for approximately 15 minutes or until golden.
Optional – prior to baking, you can top with extra grated cheese.
I often do a bulk bake up of these and freeze them for school lunches as they defrost beautifully. It’s also a nice change for sandwiches for the kids and I also like to make mini sized ones for my toddler. Great if we have to head out the door as I can pop one in my handbag and it is thawed with 20 minutes to keep him out of mischief.
